Mobility Manager

Mobility Manager enables the support of dual-mode handsets for voice call continuity (VCC) applications. It can also be used to support Office Zone applications with regular cell phones.

VCC

Unlike most competing solutions, Personeta’s My VCC accommodates service providers with or without cellular plant.

In the case of service providers without any cellular plant, such as MVNOs and ISPs, Mobility Manager anchors all incoming and outgoing calls to provide CS2 capabilities such as multi-leg call control and multiple mid-call triggering. With this type of VCC service, MVNOs and ISPs can reduce their cost for every call going over Wi-Fi and provide better in-building coverage to their subscribers.

In the case of service providers with a cellular plant, Mobility Manager will work with CS2-capable devices to support VCC.

In both cases, the result is the same from the end-user perspective; calls are seamlessly transferred between cellular and Wi-Fi networks without any call interruption. Following the 3GPP standard for VCC, Mobility Manager uses SIP to communicate with dual-mode handsets and has been certified with a number of third-party clients.

Office Zone

Mobility Manager can be used to create Office Zone services where users can get preferred billing rates when making or receiving calls within a specific location such as their office building. Using a MAP interface to the MSC, Mobility Manager can determine if a call is made from the office or not. Using that information it can either generate a CDR or notify an existing billing system to use a different rate. This type of service is a great way for cellular service providers to pre-empt competing VCC services, without requiring any change in handset or CPE.
